GUILDFORD – 23rd July 2008 –- NEC, a leading global manufacturer and service provider of telecommunication, computer and electronic devices, has improved the performance of its supply chain in its European operation, using a range of solutions from Kewill, a leading provider of global solutions for the dynamic supply network...

Using Kewill, NEC Europe’s 3,000 users in 19 operating companies can now manage purchase orders, invoices and despatch notes to their many suppliers, to the tune of thousands of orders per day. Kewill e-Biz-Manager, a leading B2B gateway solution, can manage any kind of communication in any territory and convert it into standard EDI formats.

Dr Pang, NEC European Technical Support Manager, said, “It is always difficult to develop EDI, but Kewill has helped us make it easy. Kewill exceeds in both the moving and transformation of data. Now, we have a system that gives us full visibility of our business, it is no longer a black art.”

The new system also provides greater visibility for all parties, enabling suppliers to log in via the web to look at details of transactions and their status. Dr Pang explains, “This enables us to keep our promises to customers and to make changes quickly, because we can see where problems may be occurring as soon as they arise.”

The system now also provides order history, so NEC Europe can see where the same problems may be occurring over and over, enabling them to make adjustments in advance. NEC Europe can in addition view order history, to see where the same problems may be occurring over and over, enabling them to make adjustments in advance.

Kewill has been supplying network-based solutions to NEC Europe for seven years now, based on e-Biz-Manager software, which provides a B2B gateway solution that tightly integrates systems and applications, allowing NEC Europe to exchange business information electronically with its internal systems, business partners, trading communities and customers.

Dr Pang said, “the latest version is stable, modular, easy to use and provides both order tracking and web access. It is also very reliable across 100 or more interfaces developed by Kewill.”
