Maconomy enters framework agreement with Devoteam

Published 7th January 2009

London UK, 6th January 2008 – Based on its experience with Maconomy, Devoteam Group has selected the Danish ERP company as its preferred supplier in a major international framework agreement. As a result, Devoteam’s offices in 23 countries are now considering implementing a Maconomy system. Belgium has already signed on, and Dubai, England, Austria and Norway are in the pipeline.

Maconomy continues its success on the consulting market – this time with a major framework agreement with the IT consulting group Devoteam. With over 4,250 employees in 23 countries across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, Devoteam has chosen Maconomy based on the recommendation of Devoteam’s Danish branch, which has used a Maconomy system for the past nine years.

Devoteam Denmark pointed to Maconomy because of the ERP company’s industry-specific, project-focused fit with Devoteam’s business. With the agreement, the Devoteam Group gives each of its entities a green light to begin talks with Maconomy. At the same time it ensures that the individual Devoteam offices receive support from headquarters during the process and implementations.

“We have an ambition of becoming a major player for European consulting companies. For that to happen, European companies have to learn about the advantages and possibilities of a Maconomy solution. Devoteam has seen the success that we have achieved in its Danish offices and now wants to extend those benefits to the entire company. Obviously, we are very pleased to be selected,” says Sales and Marketing Director Søren Larsen, Maconomy Denmark.

The Devoteam Group has been in business for 13 years and has experienced impressive growth rates of 25-30% a year. While each country is free to select its own it solution, the Devoteam Group sees important industry and streamlining advantages in the Maconomy system.

“We are at a point where we are looking at how we will work together down the road. The Maconomy solution allows us to share competencies across boundaries and facilitate international cooperation. We believe in local autonomy, and that is also why we are not forcing the Maconomy system on the entire organization. But we also believe that in selecting and recommending Maconomy, we have laid a foundation for further growth,” says CIO Christophe Merckens, Devoteam.

Each Devoteam country will have its own Maconomy database but will use a centrally hosted data centre. This gives each country great flexibility while still retaining the advantages of one integrated system.

Devoteam Belgium and Others in the Pipeline:

Inspired by the agreement, Devoteam Belgium has just purchased a Maconomy Consulting Solution for 270 users across its three local locations. The solution is further enhanced with a CRM system, and Devoteam Belgium plans to add resource management (People Planner) and Business Intelligence (AnalytiX) to the solution in 2009. This will ensure that Devoteam’s project-based consulting business will be able to move from several systems to one single system in areas like finance and project management.

At the same time, Maconomy will help Devoteam Belgium streamline its business processes across units and introduce best-practice procedures and workflows. Other important goals include improving time registration and displaying time on invoices in an easy-to-read fashion.

“This is an agreement with enormous potential that is already gathering momentum. We are proud to have signed an agreement with Devoteam Belgium. It was facilitated by Devoteam Denmark, which has been running a Maconomy solution for several years and spoke warmly of us. The contact with Belgium shows that the framework agreement is already paying off to the benefit of all,“ says Sales and Marketing Director Søren Larsen, Maconomy Denmark. Maconomy is currently in talks with Devoteam in Dubai, England, Austria, and Norway.
